Pier Fishing

pier fishing

You will find a pier or jetty at almost every coastal area in north Wales,as well as some hopeful anglers fishing on the end of them.
Welsh piers and jettys do provide easy access to deeper water that can give some very good results. Lowering a live bait or crab bait ;peeler or softback; close to the edges for that bass that might be looking for it’s next meal. Another great way to fish piers or jetty’s is float fishing on that calm day with not a ripple on the sea you will soon see your float going under scrapping with that mullet with fine line and small hooks that can give a really good account for themselves when they turn up in numbers as they quite often do.

Belan point

Car parking is to the right hand side of the beach near the end of the road just as you reach the bend. Then walk a one and half mile trek along the dune sand path. Fish between low and high, your better off fishing this venue with a small tide as the current runs hard.
Tope on fish baits some very nice flounders can be had with bass on lug crab and ragworm the best time is about 1 hour after high then fish it down the ebb.

Llŷn Peninsula

The long finger of the llyn peninsula probes deep into the sea. The northern coast is mainly rocky and the bays are small. For excellent bass head to the storm beaches to the west. The rocks hold good sized pollack and wrasse. Big shoals of bass run along the reefs when sand eels and mackerel are around in late summer they patrol the rolling surf beaches
